Mystery of God - Music
Words of Baha'u'llah, music by Lorraine Manifold & Pierre Weber
Australian Baha'i Choral Festival & Perfect Chord
In 1852, Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, was cast into Tehran’s most notorious subterranean dungeon, the Síyáh-Chál (Black Pit). Around Bahá’u’lláh’s neck and body were two chains, so notorious that they each were given a name: Qará-Guhar, and Salásil (just one of these chains weighed 51 kilograms). In His various Writings, Bahá'u'lláh makes it clear that he received His Divine Message through a female divine reality – that through this Maid of Heaven, God communicated His Revelation to Bahá’u’lláh. This song is about the moment when Bahá'u'lláh receives this Divine Revelation, in His own words.
