"lighten and uplift them, so that they may soar on the wings of the Divine verses" -Baha'u'llah

Who is Building the Future?

or

Reflections on Scarborough Fair

A garden of joy and great delight
Has been fashioned from God’s might
To enter, to cultivate, to grow
That we may all learn to know -
Man is a spiritual being.

To see the joy in giving
A service to all things living
Helping children grow straight and tall
Creating a vision for great and small -
Knowing mankind is One

Loving the soul of all we meet
Every day upon the street
Meeting challenges at every attempt
With patience, joy and deep content -
Knowing God is One

Respecting the rich diversity
Of man’s religious tapestry
Ascending to God with words of prayer
Breaking prejudices everywhere -
Knowing religion is One

Not just respect must we give
But reverence for all that lives
A joyous song a glad refrain
So that all may truly gain -
A world of peace and love

A Change of Time, a different song
Ordinary heroes all belong
Film and stories, childlike glee
Artistic talents from you and me -
Showing how much we truly care

A festival of soul and mind
Giving hope for all mankind
We sang, we laughed, we prayed and then
We wanted to do it all again -
But now we have the world to mend.

Now let us open the portals wide
Allowing all who love inside
Let institutions communities individuals
Give out this picture clear and visual -
This is the Garden God has made.
